Apple supplier Foxconn developing own smartwatch device - reportJuly 1, 2013 - 10:36 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Apple manufacturing partner Foxconn is reportedly developing its own smartwatch device. The wearable tech product is intended for use in conjunction with an iPhone, but will be different to Apple's rumoured iOS-powered watch, Digital Spy said citing Want China Times. However, the Foxconn product will allegedly include many of the same features that the so-called iWatch is expected to sport, such as call handling, social network updates and fitness apps. The Chinese manufacturer is also said to be exploring the possibility of adding fingerprint-recognition technology to the device, a feature rumoured for inclusion in the next iPhone. Apple is one of several tech companies believed to be working on a smartwatch, with Samsung and Google also said to be dabbling in wearable tech.
