Microsoft preparing bigger Windows Phone 8 update, report saysJuly 14, 2013 - 13:54 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Microsoft is thought to be preparing a series of bigger additions to its Windows Phone 8 operating system. As Digital Spy said citing The Verge, the computing giant may introduce a notification centre, improved multitasking and upgrades to built-in apps in an update for 2014. The speculation comes after Microsoft announced it would be making minor changes in an update to the operating system later in 2013. In a blog post, it said Xbox Music, Skype and Internet Explorer would be upgraded, with FM radio returning as well. However, sources claim the lack of significant updates this year is part of a move to bring further additions early in 2014. It is thought that Microsoft is working closely with Nokia and other Windows Phone 8 manufacturers to develop future updates. The news comes after Microsoft recently announced it would extend its support for Windows Phone 8 until January 2016, earlier than the July 2014 date previously given.
