Oscar-nommed “Little Miss Sunshine” helmers to adapt “I'm Proud of You”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Little Miss Sunshine's directors have announced a Mr Rogers film as their next project, Digital Spy said citing The Wrap.

Husband and wife team Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris will adapt Tim Madigan's 2006 memoir I'm Proud of You.

The book centres around the disillusioned journalist and family man who strikes up an unlikely friendship with TV host Fred Rogers after interviewing him in 1995.

Madigan discovered the compassionate man behind the public persona, a man who helped him through his struggle with depression and family tragedy until his death in 2003.

Rogers was best known as the host of the PBS television series Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.

Dayton and Faris most recently directed 2012's Ruby Sparks.

Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster (The Motel Life) will write the I'm Proud of You screenplay.
