MGM to resurrect "The Addams Family" in animated filmNovember 1, 2013 - 17:54 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - MGM is looking to get "The Addams Family" animated in a new movie project. As AceShowbiz reveals citing Variety, the studio is in final negotiations with BermanBraun's Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun to resurrect the famous cartoon characters originally created by Charles Addams. Pamela Pettler ("Corpse Bride" and "Monster House") writes the screenplay. Andrew Mittman and Kevin Miserocchi will serve as executive producers. The new film comes after Illumination canned a stop-motion "Addams Family" movie helmed by Tim Burton. The Iconic "Addams" family first appeared as an unrelated group of 150 single panel cartoons. Half of them were published in The New Yorker between 1938 and Charles Addams' death in 1988. The macabre clan gained fame after adapted into a TV series in the 1960s. Although the show only ran for two seasons, it was popular enough to spawn several more TV series, live-action films, books, video games, and most recently a Broadway musical.
