Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s Phonathon raises €1,460 million

PanARMENIAN.Net - Despite the crisis severely affecting France similarly to other European states, Armenian community responded overwhelmingly to the call for generosity of filmmaker Robert Guédiguian and actress Ariane Ascaris.

The European Phonathon, organized under the framework of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s Telethon 2013 raised €1,460 million, an increase of 4% compared to 2012, for the benefit of Karabakh, Armenia and reconstruction of Armenian schools in Syria, French journalist Jean Eckian reported.

Hayastan All-Armenian Fund is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation established in 1994 to facilitate large-scale humanitarian and infrastructure development assistance to Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh. Since 1991, Armenia Fund has rendered more than $250 million in development aid to Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh.
