Armenia among friendliest CIS states, Russia-held poll showsDecember 4, 2013 - 17:19 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia was named the friendliest CIS country by 13% of Russians, a poll held by Russia-based Public Opinion Foundation showed. Belarus and Kazakhstan were favored by 45% and 38% of those polled, while the following countries got less enthusiastic feedback: Azerbaijan was named friendly by 9%, Ukraine – 12%, Uzbekistan – 11%, Kirghizstan – 11%, Moldova and Tajikistan – 5% each. Asked which CIS states Russia has closer ties with , 37% of those polled named Ukraine, 12% -Moldova, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan got 6% each, while Turkmenistan, Armenia, Kirghizstan and Kazakhstan were mentioned by 3% only. Only 2% of those polled called Georgia a friendly country; the latter was characterized as unfriendly by 47%, according to Panorama.am.
