EU-Armenia Cooperation Evolves DynamicallyApril 19, 2006 - 20:43 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia's cooperation with the EU evolves dynamically and the EU-Armenian Action Plan within the European Neighborhood Policy (ENP) is almost ready, Chair of the EU-Armenia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, French MEP Marie-Anne Isler-Béguin stated at a news conference in Yerevan. In her words, the ENP will be presented in Brussels soon. «Our delegation actively participates in the working out of the Plan for Armenia and we hope this will become a new phase of integration of your country into European structures,» she remarked.Isler-Béguin also said that the delegation cooperates with Armenian communities in Europe. «They are rather large and have enough influence in the states of their residence,» she said. At the same time the French diplomat emphasized that the European Neighborhood Policy is the first stage for Armenia and other states involved in the ENP. «Successful implementation of the ENP does not give a country the right to partake in the work of the EU even as an observer. EU membership is the second stage and it is a rather long one,» she emphasized.
