Malin Buska, Michael Nyqvist to topline Swedish Queen Kristina bioFebruary 8, 2014 - 16:01 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Finnish auteur Mika Kaurismaki will helm “The Girl King” a biopic of 17th century Swedish Queen Kristina. Malin Buska (pictured) will topline opposite Sarah Gadon, Michael Nyqvist, Hippolyte Girardot and Martina Gedeck, Variety said. Sold by the Yellow Affair, the film will start shooting on location in Turku, Finland, on Tuesday and will also lense in Sweden and Germany. Michel Marc Bouchard (“Tom at the Farm”) penned the original screenplay while Linda Gaboriau adapted the English-language version. “ ‘The Girl King’ is not intended as a traditional epic costume film but as an intense, actor-centered, psychological drama about one of the most interesting and mysterious personalities of all time,” Kaurismaki said.
