Panasonic develops “world’s 1st” 4K 25fps wearable action camera (video)

PanARMENIAN.Net - Panasonic has developed what it claims is the world's first 4K wearable action camera capable of filming at 25fps, Digital Spy said.

The HX-A500 is able to shoot footage at movie-grade quality, as well as capture slow motion video at lower resolutions. The device consists of two parts - a body and a lens, with the main component equipped with Wi-Fi, NFC and a 1.5-inch LCD monitor.

"The HX-A500 has the benefit of a lightweight lens piece, just 31g, which means using it becomes unobtrusive and it adds no significant bulk or weight to the user," said Matt Evans, camcorder product manager at Panasonic.

"This is a key point when you consider that an action camcorder will be used during an activity, such as skiing or sailing, so the less weight, or size, the better the experience."

Weighing in at 31g, the HX-A500 also features EIS Image Stabilisation, Level Shot functionality, and is IPX8 waterproofed, protecting it for 30 minutes in depths of up to three metres.

The HX-A500 will be released in May with a price tag of $627.
