An investigation to clarify the details of the death of Harutyun Safaryan, 27 is under way, Karabakh defense army press service reported. Nagorno Karabakh army soldier Araik Babayan, 19, was killed Thursday, March 27, when performing a combat mission in a military unit at the line of contact between the NKR and Azerbaijani armed forces. The Karabakh War was fought from 1991 (when the Nagorno Karabakh Republic was proclaimed) to 1994 (when a ceasefire was sealed by Armenia, NKR and Azerbaijan). Most of Nagorno Karabakh and a security zone consisting of 7 regions are now under control of NKR defense army.
