“The Rover” trailer features Guy Pearce, Robert Pattinson (video) April 18, 2014 - 12:25 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - There's lots of blood, but not a sparkle to be found in “Twilight” vet Robert Pattinson's next film. The man made famous by his work as eternal teen vampire Edward Cullen has been attaching himself to prestige directors in the last few years; that started with David Cronenberg (“Cosmopolis”) and now, he's working with “Animal Kingdom” helmer David Michod in “The Rover” which dropped its first full trailer Thursday, April 17, TheWrap said. Pattinson plays a gang member in a near-future Australia, where lawlessness abounds following the collapse of the western economy. Things go from bad to worse when Pattinson's buddies make two big mistakes: stealing a car that belongs to a bitter badass played by Guy Pearce, and leaving a wounded Pattinson behind at the scene of the crime. The film looks like a slow burner, bubbling with stoic machismo — and the first real reviews will come out of Cannes, as the film was selected on Thursday to play in next month's festival there. It hits theaters in New York and LA on June 13, and rolls out nationwide the next week.
