Apple hit by lawsuit over persistent iMessage bugMay 19, 2014 - 19:07 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Apple has been hit by a lawsuit over an iMessage bug that prevents text messages from reaching Android defectors, Digital Spy said. The flaw affects Android smartphone owners whose phone number was previously associated with an iOS handset. The glitch is caused by the fact that iPhones are unable to disassociate any number ever attached to iMessage from Apple's texting platform, and will attempt delivery over the internet by default. A disgruntled Samsung device owner has now filed a class action lawsuit against the Cupertino company, demanding compensation for their lost communication, Bloomberg reports. Apple is yet to release a fix for the issue, but workaround solutions include deactivating your number on iMessage before switching to Android, or senders deleting and re-adding a contact. The issue was first reported back in 2011, when iMessage was first introduced. Top stories Yerevan will host the 2024 edition of the World Congress On Information Technology (WCIT).
