Armenian Genocide Recognition Campaign Lacks CoordinationMay 17, 2006 - 19:44 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian Genocide recognition campaign lacks coordination, President of the World Armenian Congress (WAC) Ara Abrahamyan stated at a press conference in Yerevan today. In his words, the traditional parties of the Diaspora are engaged in maintaining the culture, language and traditions and pay little attention to the Genocide issue. "The WAC is called to fill this gap and during several years already we hold annual international conference with the participation of outstanding historians, politicians and public figures to bring the Armenian viewpoint to the notion of the whole world," he said. Meanwhile ARF Bureau's Hay Dat and Political Office Director Kiro Manoyan told PanARMENIAN.Net reporter that the ARFD have been pressing for the Armenian Genocide recognition for 45 years already. "As result 18 states including France, Russia, Belgium as well as majority of the U.S. states recognized the Armenian Genocide," Manoyan emphisized. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
