Level 33 Entertainment nabs “Worst Friends” indie comedy

PanARMENIAN.Net - Level 33 Entertainment has acquired the comedy Worst Friends for distribution in North America, The Hollywood Reporter said.

The film centers on prankster Jake (Richard Tanne), who is hit by a car and only has his childhood friend Sam (Noah Barrow) to take care of him. His recovery is aided by physical therapist Lily (Cody Horn) and Sam until Sam's high school crush Zoe (Kristen Connolly) moves back to town.

It will be released Sept. 16 on VOD and DVD with select theatrical screenings.

The comedy was directed and written by CollegeHumor Originals director Ralph Arend from a story by Arend, Barrow and Tanne. The three of them produced — Tanne through his October County Films banner — as did Erika Hampson.

“This film was a labor of love to all involved, and we’re thrilled to partner with a dynamic company like Level 33 in helping it reach the widest audience possible,” Tanne said in a statement.
