Noomi Rapace, Tom Hardy thriller “Child 44” release date set

PanARMENIAN.Net - “Child 44”, the movie thriller starring Noomi Rapace and Tom Hardy, was set for an April 17, 2015, TheWrap said.

Daniel Espinosa (“Safe House”) directs “Child 44,” which is based on the novel by Tom Rob Smith and adapted by Richard Price. Jason Clarke (“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”), Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman and Vincent Cassel co-star in the suspense drama from Scott Free Productions and Worldview Entertainment.

“Child 44” is set in Stalinist Russia. It tells the tale of a senior member of the secret police ( Hardy) who is framed by a colleague for treason and exiled to a remote outpost. Here he unearths a series of mysterious murders and vows to catch the elusive killer, despite powerful members of the government who wish to silence him.

It will have some competition on that date. Sony's “Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2,” Focus Features’ Ryan Reynolds sci-fi saga “Selfless” and the Disney documentary “Monkey Kingdom” will also open on that weekend.

Ridley Scott, Michael Schaefer and Greg Shapiro are producers.

Summit is a Lionsgate company.
