“Predators” writer to work on “Deus Ex” acclaimed vid game adaptationJuly 23, 2014 - 16:33 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - CBS Films has tapped Predators writer Michael Finch to work on Deus Ex, its adaptation of the acclaimed video game, The Hollywood Reporter said. Roy Lee and Adrian Askarieh are producing. Deus Ex, a Square Enix game that was introduced in 2000, spawned a sequel and a prequel, racking up awards and millions in sales. A new game titled Deus Ex: Universe is up next. The movie is taking its cues from origin-oriented Deus Ex: Human Revolution and focuses on Adam Jensen, an ex-SWAT security specialist who undergoes mechanical augmentation in order to unravel a global conspiracy. Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill previously worked on the script. Derrickson was initially attached to direct but is now working on Doctor Strange for Marvel. John Middleton is exec producing Deus Ex. On top of writing Predators, Finch worked on Hitman: Agent 47, the reboot of the video game adaptation that stars Rupert Friend. The action movie hits theaters Feb. 27, 2015, and is getting a presentation at Comic-Con. He also worked on American Assassin for CBS Films.
