“The Babadook” Sundance hit horror releases new trailer (video) August 16, 2014 - 14:01 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The latest trailer for the horror film “The Babadook” was released. The film, from Australian first-time director Jennifer Kent, focuses on Amelie (Essie Davis), a mother struggling to handle her young son’s obsession with a monster he sees in his dreams and believes is coming to kill them, Variety reported. A mysterious storybook, “Mister Babadook,” appears in the house and leads Amelie to believe her son’s monster may be real. The film premiered to critical acclaim at the 2014 Sundance Festival, with Variety’s Scott Foundas saying it “manages to deliver real, seat-grabbing jolts while also touching on more serious themes of loss, grief and other demons that can not be so easily vanquished.” The film was picked up for domestic distribution by IFC Midnight and was produced by Causeway Films. It will receive a limited release in the states starting November 28. Top stories The creative crew of the Public TV had chosen 13-year-old Malena as a participant of this year's contest.
