Johnny Depp, daughter Lily-Rose star in “Yoga Hosers” horror-comedyAugust 20, 2014 - 18:36 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Johnny Depp and his daughter Lily-Rose Depp are starring in Kevin Smith’s horror-comedy “Yoga Hosers,” which begins shooting this week, Variety said. Smith’s daughter Harley Quinn Smith is also starring in the second installment of Smith’s True North Trilogy. The trio also appeared in the first film “Tusk,” which will see its world premiere at the Toronto Intl. Film Festival. The entire “Tusk” cast is returning for “Yoga Hosers,” including Michael Parks, Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Genesis Rodriguez, Ralph Garman, Jennifer Schwalbach and Harley Morenstein. New cast members include Tony Hale, Natasha Lyonne, Austin Butler, Adam Brody, Tyler Posey and Jason Mewes. The daughters will play 15-year-old yoga enthusiasts who hate their after-school jobs at a Manitoban convenience store and team with Depp’s manhunter character to battle an ancient evil. “People always ask me ‘Are you ever going to make a comicbook movie?’” said Smith. “This is it – but instead of yet another dude saving the day, our antiheroes are the most feared and formidable creatures man has ever encountered: two fifteen year old girls.” StarStream Entertainment is financing and producing the film in association with Invincible Pictures, Abbolita Productions and Smith’s SModcast Pictures. Liz Destro, Jordan Monsanto and Jennifer Schwalbach are producing. XYZ Films will be selling foreign rights at Toronto with WME Global handling North America. XYZ Films is also handling foreign sales on “Tusk.” StarStream’s “Life After Beth” opened last weekend and Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions will release StarStream’s “Life of Crime” on Aug. 29.
