Greek President, Austrian Foreign Minister to visit Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Austria’s Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs Sebastian Kurz will pay an official visit to Armenia September 8-9 on the invitation of Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.

According foreign ministry’s press service; meeting with President Serzh Sargsyan is on the Austrian official’s agenda, as well as bilateral talks with Nalbandian to be followed by a joint press conference

Kurz will also visit the Genocide memorial in Tsitsernakaberd to pay tribute to the victims of the tragedy and attend the opening of the Yerevan Office of the Austrian Development Agency.

Also, Greek President Carlos Papoulias plans to travel to Armenia, with the date of the visit unspecified.

During the meeting on the sidelines of the Wales-hosted NATO summit, Foreign Minister Nalbandian discussed preparations for the upcoming presidential visit with his Greek counterpart Evangelos Venizelos.

The officials further stressed the importance of cooperation in the framework of international organizations. Nagorno Karabakh peace process was among the issues discussed, with Greek Foreign Minister commending mediation efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.
