John Malkovich channels famous figures in iconic photosSeptember 24, 2014 - 10:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A series of iconic photographs have been recreated by photographer Sandro Miller featuring John Malkovich as the subject. In the 35 images, Malkovich re-enacts poses by Marilyn Monroe, John Lennon and Alfred Hitchcock among others for an exhibition called "Malkovich, Malkovich, Malkovich: Homage to Photographic Masters" which will take place at the Catherine Edelman Gallery in Chicago starting on November 7, AceShowbiz said. In one photo, Malkovich channels Hitchcock from Albert Watson's "Alfred Hitchcock With Goose". He also poses as Monroe, covering his chest with two large flowers. He also appears as The Joker in one image and becomes a naked Lennon while recreating Annie Leibovitz's 1980 photo in which the singer posed with fully-clothed Yoko Ono. In an interview with The Washington Post, Miller who is also a friend of Malkovich talked about working with the actor for the project. According to him, his idea of re-creating the famous photos using a single subject emerged two years ago. He then flew to France to meet Malkovich at the actor's home and explained it. They embarked on the project a few months later, spending "tens of thousands" for makeups, wigs and other properties. "He's probably the most confident man I've ever run across," the photographer shared. "The Marilyn Monroe - there's eye lashes, eye liner - he had to go to that very, very feminine side of him and really feel what Marilyn was feeling. He allowed himself to be that very, very sensual, sexual woman. The hair and makeup helped to get him there."
