Paramount nabs Richard Linklater’s “That’s What I’m Talking About”September 30, 2014 - 15:02 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Paramount Pictures has claimed distribution rights to That’s What I’m Talking About, Richard Linklater’s follow-up to his acclaimed Boyhood, The Hollywood Reporter said. At the same time, Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures will handle sales of the drama’s international rights. The movie is related tonally to Linklater’s classic Dazed & Confused but whereas that movie was based on Linklater’s 1970s high school life, Talking About is based on his own college experiences in the 1980s. The movie centers on freshmen – played by Blake Jenner, Tyler Hoechlin, Wyatt Russell, among others - who work their way through the first year of college life, as they try to make the baseball team. The movie begins production soon and is the project for which Linklater dropped the big studio special effects-filled tentpole The Incredible Mr. Limpet.
