“Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies” final installment unveils new poster

PanARMENIAN.Net - The main poster for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies has been published, Digital Spy said.

Warner Bros UK Entertainment released the image Monday, October 6, which depicts Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins holding a sword up to camera. Behind him is a burning skyline, underneath the tagline "The defining chapter".

The Battle of the Five Armies follows on from last year's installment, The Desolation of Smaug, which ended with Bilbo accidentally unleashing the dragon Smaug upon the people of Lake-town.

The final film sees the King Under the Mountain, Thorin Oakenshield, succumbing to dragon-sickness but desperate to find the Arkenstone. This leads Bilbo to make a desperate choice.

Meanwhile, Dark Lord Sauron sends forth legions of Orcs in an attack upon the Lonely Mountain, which leads the races of Dwarves, Elves and Men to make the decision of whether to unite or face destruction.

The film is the third and final part of Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy, which is adapted from J.R.R. Tolkien's novels.

The cast includes Freeman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Sir Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage and Luke Evans.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is released in the UK on December 12 and in the US on December 17.
