During his visit, the Armenian official met the Vice President of Iran Eshaq Jahangiri, with the parties focusing on a number of issues including energy, development of infrastructure, tourism, trade, science, culture as well as regional situation. In this context, Jahangiri hailed the bilateral ties with Armenia as exemplary. The Pime Minister also met with Iranian leader Hassan Rouhani and parliament chair Ali Larijani. Earlier, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yervand Zakharyan met with Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh to discuss possible ways to boost the two countries’ relations in the oil sector. Iran bartered about 900 million cubic meters of its gas with 1.14 billion Kwh of Armenian electricity during the last Iranian fiscal year (ended on March 21), according to the official data, released by Iran's Energy and Oil Ministry.
