LG rolls out smartphone with virtually no bezelsOctober 31, 2014 - 13:21 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - LG has revealed a prototype smartphone with a display that runs almost entirely edge to edge. According to Digital Spy, the tester unit features a 5.3-inch, 1080p LCD screen with 0.7mm bezels, slimmer than the width of a credit card. LG was able to create a device with the world's narrowest bezels thanks to "Neo Edge" module processing and "advanced in-cell touch" technology. This essentially means that the panel's circuit board and backlight are welded together, and the touchscreen is embedded into the LCD module. LG claims that the display is also waterproof and dust-resistant, as well as being more durable than standard phone panels. The display technology will only be built for Chinese smartphones for the time being. Photo: LG Top stories Yerevan will host the 2024 edition of the World Congress On Information Technology (WCIT).
