Pakistan says successfully test-fired nuclear-capable missileNovember 13, 2014 - 14:54 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Pakistan's military said it has successfully test-fired an intermediate-range missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead, the Associated Press reports. The military said the Shaheen-II missile, also known as Hatf-VI, with a range of 1,500 kilometers (900 miles), was launched on Thursday, Nov 13, from an undisclosed location. Its impact point was somewhere in the Arabian Sea, which is part of the Indian Ocean. Lt. Gen. Zubair Mahmood Hayat, who attended the launch, said Pakistan has no aggressive designs against anyone. Pakistan has previously test-fired the same type of missile. Pakistan became a declared nuclear power in 1998, when it conducted underground nuclear tests in response to those carried out by archenemy and neighbor, India. The two countries have fought three wars since gaining independence from Britain in 1947. They often conduct tit-for-tat missile tests.
