Dave Grohl unveils previously unheard solo track (video) December 2, 2014 - 15:45 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Dave Grohl has unveiled a solo track, recorded before he formed Foo Fighters in the latter days of Nirvana, Gigwise said. The latest episode of Foo Fighters' Sonic Highways focuses on the music and history of Seattle, Washington - the town were Nirvana rose to fame. Much of said episode looks into Grohl's transition from Nirvana to the Foos - a time in which he and Barrett Jones recorded around 40 solo songs. Among them was the previously unheard 'Hooker On The Street' - a bluesy Prince-esque funky little rocker. “Kurt heard that, and kissed me on the face, as he was in a bath,” says Grohl of the first time he played his music to Cobain. “He was so excited. He was like, ‘I heard you recorded some stuff with Barrett [Jones].’ I was like, ‘Yeah.’ He was like, ‘Let me hear it.’ I was too afraid to be in the same room as he listened to it.” Meanwhile, Foo Fighters will be returning to the UK and Ireland for a string of hug stadium shows next year.
