CAUCASIAN STATES CAN SOLVE THEIR REGIONAL PROBLEMS WITHOUT EXTERNAL INTERVENTION, IRANIAN PRESIDENT STATED

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Caucasus is an important and sensitive region, whose states can focus on the development and strengthening peace and stability without external intervention. As reported by "Novosti" Russian information agency, Iranian president Mohammad Khatami stated it at the meeting with the chief of Armenian president's administration Artashes Tumanian, who was in Teheran to participate in the final stage of the sitting of the Armenian-Iranian intergovernmental economic commission. He emphasized that regional problems should be solved in a fair and peaceful way, via negotiations. The Iranian leader noted the establishment of tranquility and security in Armenia and expressed hope for the soonest realization of joint projects, in particular, the laying of the Iranian-Armenian gas pipeline, as well as the building of Kajaran tunnel.
