Georgia to Elaborate Most Favorable Transit Conditions for Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Yesterday Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian met in Tbilisi with Georgian FM Gela Bejuashvili. During the meeting the parties stressed that the Armenian-Georgian relations based upon strong historical ties and friendship will keep on developing in the atmosphere of partnership. Vartan Oskanian and Gela Bejuashvili assessed the agenda of the Armenian-Georgian relations as rich what can be proved by mutual visits at the high level and constant contacts available between the governments. The parties pointed out the joint efforts in the economic and business sectors targeted at strengthening of ties and encouragement of mutual investments. The Ministers underscored that development of efficient economic transport communications can promote strengthening of the Armenian-Georgian trade and economic relations. Besides the interlocutors touched upon the energy security and implementation of cosio-economic projects in the near-border villages with the assistance of international structures and some foreign states.



Vartan Oskanian remarked that some economic issues have political coloring and claim special attention. He specifically underscored that restoration of the Kars-Gyumri-Tbilisi railway communication can help to increase the volume of commodity turnover between the two states. For his part Bejuashvili noted that Georgia realizes its role as a specific bridge in the region and will continue the work at the elaboration of the most favorable transit conditions for Armenia. Georgia is interested in diversification of transport communications what will contribute to the development of all the states of the region.
