Sony announces device to add smarts to regular glassesDecember 18, 2014 - 12:02 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Sony has unveiled a piece of technology that aims to turn your regular spectacles into a Google Glass-esque headset, Digital Spy reports. The Single-Lens Display Module, which will be showcased in prototype form at CES 2015 next month, can be affixed to almost any pair of everyday glasses. The accessory consists of a high-resolution colour OLED Microdisplay and a Micro Optical Unit, which combine to beam images of 640 x 400 pixels onto the lens of your standard eyewear. Sony claims that the module will play host to an ARM Cortex-A7 processor, making it as powerful as some smartphones, and weigh in at around 40g. It will also come with a sensor hub, wireless LAN and Bluetooth connectivity, and a 400mAh battery. The consumer electronics giant plans to start mass producing the device in 2015, following its debut at CES in early January.
