Pharrell, The Eagles, others suing YouTube for $1 billion

PanARMENIAN.Net - YouTube are facing a $1 Billion lawsuit from a wealth of high profile stars, with lawyers requesting the removal of over 20,000 videos from the famous streaming site, Gigwise reports.

Irving Azoff, founder of Global Music Rights claims the site does not have the performance rights for thousands of songs from the artists the group represents, and thus need to remove them immediately, or they will face intense legal action.

The group represents over 40 artists including Pharrell Williams, The Eagles, Chris Cornell, John Lennon and others.

Google, who owns YouTube, have already hit back at the claims, stating they do in fact have the rights to the aforementioned videos, and still plan on launching their long awaited Music Key service.

It is currently unknown whether the case itself will make it to court, and Pharrell or any of the other concerned artists have yet to comment on the lawsuit .
