Adam Lambert on singing with Queen: I’ll never replace MercuryJanuary 8, 2015 - 13:49 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Adam Lambert has spoken out about his current role singing with Queen, vowing that he'll never 'replace' Freddie Mercury but that he'll 'keep his memory alive', Gigwise reports. The American Idol star turned pop sensation has been performing and touring with the legends for some years now, and is gearing up for a massive run of UK arena shows in 2015. Speaking with Brian May and Roger Taylor in the latest issue of Classic Rock magazine, Lambert opens up about the legacy of the late icon Freddie Mercury, and what it means to take his place on stage. "There's never going to be another, and I'm not replacing him," said Lambert. "That's not what I'm doing. I'm trying to keep the memory alive, and remind people how amazing he was, without imitating him. I'm trying to share with the audience how much he inspired me." Brian May continued: "Adam is the first person we've encountered who can do all the Queen catalogue without blinking. He is a gift from god," before drummer Roger Taylor, added: "He's incredibly musical, and we certainly take anything he says quite seriously."
