“Game of Thrones”’ Jason Momoa to star in cannibal love storyFebruary 7, 2015 - 14:39 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - “Batman v Superman’s” Jason Momoa is in negotiations to star in Ana Lily Amirpour’s dystopian love story “The Bad Batch,” which is a co-production between Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures and Vice, TheWrap said citing multiple individuals familiar with the project. Representatives for Annapurna and Momoa did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Described as a cross between “The Road Warrior” and “Pretty in Pink,” “The Bad Batch” is a post-apocalyptic tale set in a Texas wasteland where a community of cannibals reside. The film is a love story about a cannibal (Momoa) and his food. Annapurna’s Megan Ellison will produce alongside Vice’s Danny Gabai and Sina Sayyah. Vice’s Shane Smith and Eddy Moretti will executive produce the film, which Annapurna executive Sammy Scher will oversee on behalf of the company. On Jan. 7, the day Annapurna announced it was cooking up “The Bad Batch,” Ellison tweeted a photo of Amirpour holding up the script, and Momoa could be glimpsed in the corner of the photo. “The Bad Batch” marks the first time Vice will be a producing partner alongside Annapurna, after first working on marketing for several of the company’s releases, including “Spring Breakers,” “The Grandmaster” and “Her.” Amirpour is best known for directing the genre-bending Iranian vampire movie “A Girls Walks Home Alone at Night,” which premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. Momoa will soon be seen as Aquaman in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” before the superhero gets his own movie in 2018. He currently stars on the Sundance Channel series “The Red Road” and recently wrote, directed, produced and starred in the indie movie “Road to Paloma.” Photo: The Hollywood News Top stories Ara Aivazian said Azerbaijan continues the traditions of Turkey after seizing territories and forced Armenians out.
