YouTube to launch Music Key streaming service in coming monthsFebruary 20, 2015 - 12:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - YouTube has announced that it will launch the full version of its Music Key streaming service in the coming months, Digital Spy reports. The Google-owned company's head of content and business operations Robert Kyncl narrowed down the release date at this week's Code/Media conference. YouTube previously announced that Music Key premium subscribers will gain access to ad-free playback, a library of offline music videos, and background listening for audio playback when their phone is on standby. "There is a subset of audience who wants more things so they are used to paying for those. We don't think it changes anything for existing users," Reuters quotes Kyncl as saying. The mobile version of the service is currently exclusive to Android, but YouTube is working on an iOS application ahead of Music Key's full launch. Music Key is currently undergoing beta testing, available to sample by invitation only. YouTube, the world's largest video streaming network, recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, having launched on February 14, 2005.
