Edgar Ramirez joins Matthew McConaughey in mining drama “Gold”![]() March 19, 2015 - 12:03 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - “Zero Dark Thirty” actor Edgar Ramirez will star alongside Matthew McConaughey in Black Bear Pictures’ mining drama “Gold,” set to start shooting in June in New York, New Mexico and Thailand, Variety reports. He will play a geologist whom McConaughey’s prospector teams with to find gold in the uncharted Indonesian jungle. Stephen Gaghan (“Syriana”) is directing from a script by Patrick Massett and John Zinman. Producers are Teddy Schwarzman (“The Imitation Game”), Michael Nozik through his Hwy61 company, Massett, Zinman and McConaughey. Exec producers are Paul Haggis and Richard Middleton. Ramirez will appear in two films opening at Christmas: David O. Russell’s “Joy” and Alcon’s reboot of “Point Break.” He also stars as Roberto Duran in the biopic “Hands of Stone.” The news was first reported by Deadline.com.
