Azeri group destroyed in infiltration attempt, 3 Armenians killedMarch 19, 2015 - 17:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Nagorno Karabakh Republic defense army soldiers Hakob Khachatryan (born in 1996), Edward Hayrapetyan (born in 1995) and Arshak Harutyunyan (born in 1995) were killed, as a group of Azerbaijani special forces attacked the Armenian positions in the northern direction of the line of contact (Gyulistan), Public Radio of Armenia reports citing the NKR Defense Ministry. According to the report, four more soldiers were wounded in the attack at about 08:30 a.m. this morning. After a two-hour fight, the Armenian side repelled the rival, destroying the group close to its military positions. The conflict between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan The conflict between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan broke out as result of the ethnic cleansing launched by the Azeri authorities in the final years of the Soviet Union. The Karabakh War was fought from 1991 (when the Nagorno Karabakh Republic was proclaimed) to 1994 (when a ceasefire was sealed by Armenia, NKR and Azerbaijan). Most of Nagorno Karabakh and a security zone consisting of 7 regions are now under control of NKR defense army.
