The horror franchise is being revamped to focus on a new family for writer-director Leigh Whannell's latest sequel. Quinn (Stefanie Scott) is adjusting to life without her mother when she makes the tragic mistake of trying to contact the spiritual realm. With Quinn's soul hanging in the balance, it is up to a spiritual medium (Lin Shaye) and the returning ghost hunters Specs and Tucker (Whannell and Angus Sampson) to battle the dark forces haunting her home.
