PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkish President issued a message to the Armenian Partriarch of the Constantinople, as Istanbul hosted an event to commemorate "the victims of the WWI."

"On this important day for Turkey's Armenian Diaspora, I once again honor the memory of Ottoman Armenians who died in the course of WWI, and express my condolences to their decendants," Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, Tert.am reports citing Posta.

In his message, Erdogan reminded of Armenians contribution to the economic, social, cultural and political life of the Ottoman Empire.

He also stressed the need for peaceful coexistence of the two nations, noting that Turkey is struggling to achieve that state.
