Rovio trials Angry Birds on Samsung Gear virtual reality headsetMay 13, 2015 - 10:52 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Rovio has launched its popular Angry Birds game into another dimension with a virtual reality version, Digital Spy reports. Angry Birds VR uses the Samsung Gear VR headset, and was demoed at the Rock in Rio festival in Las Vegas over the weekend. Road To VR reports that the new game changes from the usual side-view to behind, and a still from the project hints that players will have to move the bird through a selection of white rings. It is not clear whether Angry Birds VR was created especially for the Rock in Rio event, or if it will be distributed for consumer release. Earlier this year, Rovio released Angry Birds Stella POP!, a balloon-popping app which sees gamers match bubbles to save characters. A new Angry Birds tournament inspired by retro gaming was also revealed, taking inspiration from games such as Tetris and Super Mario Bros.
