Oculus unveils list of PC specs for Oculus Rift virtual reality headsetMay 16, 2015 - 12:37 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - If you want an Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, you'll probably want to know what kind of PC you'll need to run it. Fortunately, Oculus has provided fans with a list of recommended PC specifications, Digital Spy reports. To take advantage of Oculus Rift experience, users will need the equivalent (or greater) of an NVIDIA GTX 970 graphics card or an AMD 290. An Intel i5-4590 processor or greater is also required, alongside at least 8GB of RAM, compatible HDMI 1.3 video output and two USB 3.0 ports. Finally, you'll need the Windows 7 SP1 operating system, or something newer. According to a blog post, Oculus's goal is for "all Rift games and applications to deliver a great experience on this configuration". "Ultimately, we believe this will be fundamental to VR's success," the post continues, "as developers can optimise and tune their game for a known specification, consistently achieving presence and simplifying development. "All of the games and applications for the Rift created by Oculus will provide an incredible experience on this system." Oculus finally revealed that the virtual reality headset will arrive during the first quarter of 2016.
