Oscar-nommed Michelle Williams joins mining drama “Gold”May 18, 2015 - 11:41 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Michelle Williams has joined the cast of mining drama Gold, Digital Spy reports. The Blue Valentine actress will appear alongside Matthew McConaughey and Édgar Ramírez in the movie inspired by the true events of the 1993 Bre-X Mineral Corporation mining scandal. The film will follow geologist Michael Acosta (Ramírez) and a prospector called Walsh (McConaughey), who team up to uncover huge deposits of gold in the heart of the Indonesian jungle. Variety reports that Williams will play McConaughey's wife in the project. Gold is penned by Patrick Massett and John Zinman with Stephen Gaghan directing. The production is due to start filming in June in New York, New Mexico and Thailand. Williams recently starred in World War II drama Suite Française alongside Kristen Scott Thomas.
