A brief scene from director Justin Kurzel's adaptation of the Shakespeare play sees Fassbender's warrior lead an army of troops into battle. The scene juxtaposes full-speed charging from the soldiers with slow-motion shots of the two armies colliding for the first time. Fassbender's re-telling of Macbeth sees him play the title character, a warrior who is brought down by his own lust for power. His supporting cast for the war epic includes Paddy Considine, David Thewlis, Sean Harris and Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard as Lady Macbeth. Kurzel's movie was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. Macbeth opens on October 2 in the UK. A US release date has not yet been set.
