Talin Arsenian elected Glendale Teachers Association presidentJune 4, 2015 - 08:56 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Glendale Unified School District math teacher Talin Arsenian was elected president of the Glendale Teachers Association earlier this month. She will assume the leadership post of the Glendale teachers’ union on July 1, Asbarez reports. Arsenian has been an active member of the Association since she began teaching Mathematics in the Glendale Unified School District in 1999. Her credentials include a Bachelor in Mathematics, a Master in Education, and a Master in Educational Administration. In addition to teaching Math at Toll Middle School and Glendale High School, Arsenian has served the GTA as a Teacher Representative, Elections Chairperson, PAC Committee Treasurer, PAC Committee Chairperson, and Bargaining Committee Member. On the GTA Executive Board, she has served as Secretary and Vice-President. In 2013, Arsenian worked with GTA’s Bargaining Team to successfully negotiate a pupil and teacher free day for all Glendale Unified schools on April 24 in order to commemorate the Armenian Genocide.
