Sony's SmartBand 2 official after early launch of appJune 5, 2015 - 13:01 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Sony's SmartBand 2 is yet to be formally announced, but we know it is official after its companion app hit Google Play prematurely, Digital Spy reports. The app was quickly pulled, but not before Android Police grabbed a screenshot and shared details about the fitness tracker. The original SmartBand was a minimalist offering with an e-ink display, but it skimped on important features such as a heart rate monitor and an altimeter. Its successor plugs some of these gaps with the inclusion of a heart rate monitor and pulse-training workouts via the app. Like the original model, the SmartBand 2 delivers smartphone notifications, counts the user's steps, and monitors their sleep. Sony is yet to officially announce the SmartBand 2, but since the cat is now out of the bag, it shouldn't be too long before it does.
