Matthew Broderick, Chloë Sevigny to star in dark comedy “Look Away”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Locomotive Media has tapped Matthew Broderick and Chloë Sevigny to star in the upcoming dark comedy “Look Away”, with British actress Shannon Tarbet in the lead role, Variety reports.

Broderick and Sevigny will portray the parents of Tarbet’s character. Andy Delaney and Monty Whitebloom (“BigTV!”) will direct from a script by Jennifer Schuur.

Production began this week in New York’s Hudson Valley.

Lucy Barzun Donnelly and Alexandra Kerry of Locomotive Media are producing. Alexis Alexanian, Peter Friedlander and Lizzie Nastro will exec produce the film, with New Regency also on board as an executive producer and co-financier.

In addition to this project, Locomotive Media is working on a development deal with New Regency to create a fund to develop and produce films.

Tarbet will portray a young woman who is unable to physically see her mother due to a fictional affliction called selective blindness. With the help of an eccentric psychiatrist and a love interest, she grows up, falls in love, and takes hold of her future.

Broderick will next be seen onscreen in “Dirty Weekend” opposite Alice Eve for director Neil LaBute, and the untitled Warren Beatty project opposite Beatty, Annette Bening and Lily Collins. Sevigny most recently starred in the new Netflix series “Bloodline.”

Tarbet most recently appeared on stage in Adam Rapp’s one-woman show “Edge of Our Bodies” at the Gate Theatre in Notting Hill.
