Amy Poehler to join Will Ferrell in New Line comedy “The House”June 13, 2015 - 10:31 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Amy Poehler is in negotiations to star opposite Will Ferrell in New Line comedy “The House.” The film would mark the first time the two have worked together since they faced off as rival ice skaters in the comedy “Blades of Glory,” Variety reports. Andrew J. Cohen is making his directorial debut on “The House” from a script he co-wrote with Brendan O’Brien. Ferrell will play a husband who joins with his neighbors to start an illegal casino in his basement after he and his wife blow their daughter’s college fund. Poehler will play his wife. Ferrell and Adam McKay will produce the comedy through their Gary Sanchez Productions banner along with Good Universe and O’Brien. Chris Henchy and Jessica Elbaum are exec producing. New Line’s Richard Brener, Michael Disco and Sam Brown are overseeing “The House.” Poehler stars next in Pixar’s “Inside Out” and will appear later this year in the Universal comedy “Sisters” opposite Tina Fey. She is also producing a handful of TV shows through her Paper Kite productions, which include “Broad City,” “Welcome to Sweden” and the upcoming “Difficult People,” which will be seen on Hulu.
