Apple “working on new display technology”June 23, 2015 - 16:22 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - It could be the end of the road for the iPhone's home button, as Apple is reportedly working on display technology that could make it obsolete. The Cupertino firm is attempting to combine touch and display drivers in a single chip and integrate Touch ID into the handset's display, Digital Spy reports citing Digitimes. Removing the home button would also allow Apple to do away with some bezel, giving future iPhones more display real estate. There is no word on when the display technology will find its way to Apple's products, but it is not expected to be in time for the iPhone 6S. The iPhone 6S is expected to be released alongside the iPhone 6S Plus in September. Previous reports suggest that the device will make the jump to a 12-megapixel camera and include the Apple Watch's Force Touch technology.
