Apple reportedly planning to produce electric cars jointly with BMWJuly 28, 2015 - 15:19 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Earlier reports hinted that Apple was looking beyond mobile devices and was planning to make a self-driving electric cars. Correspondingly, the company was talking to experts at carmakers and automotive suppliers as well. Now, Apple is in talks with BMW about building an electric car together, which would serve as the first in a list of many cars with Apple’s logo placed in the front, Firstpost reports. According to a report by Manager Magazin, Apple CEO is considering to use BMW as a ‘model platform’ for a new car project. Apple is apparently pretty much interested in the body of BMW’s electric car dubbed i3. As of now, both the companies have not yet reached a deal. Additionally, Tim Cook, CEO of Apple Inc. is also said to have visited BMW facilities in Leipzig, Germany. However, Apple has not made any comments about a purported ‘Apple Car’ but a report by Itproportal points out that Fiat, BMW and Tesla Motors have all dropped hints that Apple is entering the industry. According to a previous report, Apple has a secret lab working on the an Apple-branded electric car. The project has designed a vehicle that looks like a minivan. It would take years to finish the project, and it is not certain if Apple will eventually build a car as well, added the report.
