Unknown Person Fired upon Opposition Rally in JavakhkOctober 10, 2006 - 16:12 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - An unknown person fired upon opposition rally of Industry Will Save Georgia opposition party from a pistol in Akhalkalaki town of Samtskhe-Javakheti region of Georgia, populated by Armenians. In the morning of October 9 party members organized a rally against the returns of the local authority elections. 10 minutes after the beginning an unknown person came up and shoot the oppositionists from a pistol. According to unconfirmed information, there are persons wounded among rally participants. There are no reports on detaining the person.The rally participants tried to rush into the building, where the local administration is situated. As it is known, local self-government body elections on October 5were won by United National Movement party, reports Novosti-Gruzia.
