Katherine Heigl joins Laverne Cox in "Doubt" CBS drama![]() August 25, 2015 - 10:49 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Katherine Heigl is plotting her TV return with CBS drama pilot. She has landed a lead role in "Doubt" from "Grey's Anatomy" executive producers Tony Phelan and Joan Rater. This project, thus, marks a reunion for the three, AceShowbiz reports. Heigl will star as Sadie, who is described as a "smart, chic, successful defense lawyer at a boutique firm who shockingly gets romantically involved with one of her clients, who may or may not be guilty of a brutal crime." She takes over the lead role from "Private Practice" alum KaDee Strickland, who was originally cast to play Sadie. The drama will likely also recast the male lead Teddy Sears. Other stars on board the project include Laverne Cox, Dule Hill, Dreama Walker and Elliott Gould. Heigl, who mostly focused on her movie career following her "Grey's" exit, recently made a comeback to small screen on NBC's "State of Affairs", but the drama thriller was canceled after only one season.
