Sony nabs Susan Sarandon, Rose Byrne’s “The Meddler”August 26, 2015 - 15:01 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Sony Pictures Classics will theatrically distribute “The Meddler,” a film starring Susan Sarandon, Rose Byrne and J.K. Simmons, the studio announced Tuesday, August 25, according to TheWrap. The film will have its premiere at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival. “The Meddler” follows Marnie Minervini (Sarandon) who recently became a widow and moves from New Jersey to Los Angeles to be closer to her daughter (Byrne). With an iPhone and a full bank account in tow, she sets out to make new friends and possibly find someone new. Other cast members include Cecily Strong (“Saturday Night Live”), Jerrod Carmichael (“Neighbors”) and Michael McKean (“Better Call Saul”). The film is produced by Joy Gorman Wettels of Anonymous Content, with Sarandon executive producing alongside Anonymous’ Paul Green and Steve Golin. Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions acquired the worldwide rights to the film before the beginning of the production and will distribute “The Meddler” internationally.
